This tee displays the Revolutionary War flag which is associated with the Battle of Bennington which took place on August 16, 1777, in Walloomsac, New York, about 10 miles from Bennington, Vermont. A rebel force of 2,000 New Hampshire and Massachusetts militiamen, led by General John Stark, and reinforced by Vermont militiamen led by Colonel Seth Warner and members of the Green Mountain Boys, decisively defeated a detachment of General John Burgoyne's army led by Lieutenant Colonel Friedrich Baum. One of the distinctive features of the Bennington flag is the arrangement of the 13 stripes, with white being outermost (rather than red being outermost), so please realize that if you put this image on a white shirt, it will make the two outermost stripes seem to disappear. This tee-shirt makes a perfect gift for any U.S. history buff, historian, history professor, patriot or anyone who is simply proud to be an American. Display your patriotism every day of the year!
