"Are you girls handicapped?" The grumpy, nosy old man was shouting at the two girls from across the gas station parking lot in dusty Socorro, New Mexico. His busy-body legs drove him closer to them at an alarmingly rapid pace. They froze and stared at him with annoyance. "Because one of you better be," he continued.
